Woman ‘marries’ a tree in front of family and now plans to change her surname

A Mother-of-two has held her wedding ceremony with a tree and now plans to change her surname to reflect her new marital status. The 34-year-old bride identified as Kate Cunningham, decided to ‘marry’ the elder tree in Litherland’s Rimrose Valley Park as a move to raise awareness about a campaign opposing the construction of a new bypass. Kate from Melling, told the Liverpool Echo that she had a hen do the night before and now plans to change her name to Kate Rose Elder by deed poll. Kate’s family and friends looked on as the bizarre wedding ceremony was held at a park in merseyside. Kate told the Echo: “My boyfriend is very supportive of my decision. “He’s even helped make props for the ceremony. “My oldest son was initially embarrassed when I told him I was going to do it, but now he has decided to come to the ceremony. It means a lot to him to be there. “My dad has been very supportive. He’s been out in his van helping to organise everything for the big day.”

"I have never slept with another woman since i got married" - Saka speaks

Legendary comic actor, Hafiz Oyetoro, more popularly known as Saka, recently had a close interview with PUNCH news, where he revealed that he has never committed adultery in his life, and this discipline has helped him successful keep his marriage intact.
In Saka's words,

“the best thing that can happen to a man is to get married to a woman that shares his vision. My wife shares my vision. We have almost the same views about life and she allows me to be in full control of our home. Another important factor is that since I got married I have never had an extra-marital affair. I have never slept with another woman.”

Saka, who also doubles as a teacher in English Language and drama at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, Lagos, revealed that he first met his wife, Olaide Saidat, when he started teaching at the college in 200

Although, Saka disclosed that he has had his fair share of deep heart-breaks in the past and one particular experience taught him a hard lesson about life. He recounted the experience saying,

“I was in secondary school and involved in this relationship. My girlfriend and I was quite an item in school. We were so close that people always talked about us. Once, we had a little misunderstanding and I asked a friend of mine to talk to her about it. Little did I know that he had a different agenda. The boy ended up snatching my girlfriend from me.”

“I really felt bad about it and it took me some time to recover emotionally. That experience taught me to be very strong and to always prepare myself for any situation in life, good or bad.”

Saka and his wife have been married for over 16 years with three kids, two boys and a girl.
